Microdermabrasion Stretchmark Treatment

Stretch marks form when rapid growth causes the skin to over-stretch. Hormones affect the normal levels of elastin and collagen production which results in what we call stretch marks. Treatment for stretch marks is most effective when they are still red in appearance. Microdermabrasion stimulates collagen and elastin production to help contract the marks, so they appear smaller and thinner. Over a course of treatment, the level of the skin surrounding the stretch marks is also reduced to be closer to the stretch mark itself, this also makes them less visible. Course length can vary considerably depending on the size and extent of the stretch marks, typically 6-10 treatments will be required.
